Yoga for Beginners: 6 Week Course

About the Event
Each week learners will be guided through a sixty minute yoga practice. The course will start off by teaching the traditional sun salutation which students will build on as the weeks progress. Students will be safely guided on how to open and stretch each area of the body, understanding and feeling the impact this has on our energy and how it can strengthen and heal both the physical body and mind.
Students will later be taught a variety of postures that will strengthen the entire body, improve balance and joint mobility and improve overall fitness and stamina. All postures will be demonstrated and thoroughly picked apart so as to give students the comprehensive understanding to safely and effectively perform asana yoga (the physical practice of yoga through postures); thus, making it a great refresher course, even for practiced yogis not so new to yoga but in need of a refresher.
Students will be introduced to Pranayama techniques (breathing practices), a powerful tool which modern science is now showing can have a significantly beneficial impact on both the immune and nervous system. Participants will also be guided through meditation practices throughout the course and taught how to continue these introspective and transformative practices in the comfort of their own home.
We look forward to welcoming you all, whether you’re completely new to the practice of physical yoga or whether you’re simply looking to reconnect or further you understanding of the practice. Any body, any age and any ability welcome.
The six week course is £50 in total. All mats are provided, but feel free to bring your own. Bring drinking water.
